Google
Google is currently the biggest search engine in the world as far as businesses are concerned and it seems to be getting more dominant. Whatever the figures that are passed around about share of world-wide searches and search engine market share, we know where our traffic comes from!
About half of our total visitors come from search engines and of those visitors nearly 80% come from Google in some form or other. This may reflect our keyword and submission activity, but we have been fairly consistent in our work across all the engines and these statistics reflect the experience of other businesses as well .
The figures are similar if we restrict the reporting to only those visitors who resulted in a sale - Google still brings a lot of our business!
