Garden Lighting Design
JUST BECAUSE A GARDEN IS “WELL LIT”,
DOESN'T NECESSARILY MEAN IT IS “LIT WELL”

The only garden lighting that many people have in their gardens is an overhead security flood that swamps the garden with a bright and unforgiving light.
Dave Milsom specialises in the garden lighting design and installation of bespoke lighting schemes for garden lighting. Good garden lighting is meant to be more subtle and is designed to enhance the shadows and nuances of your garden. All gardens, no matter what size, have different characteristics and will only be “lit well” if all these are taken into consideration. Lighting should be there to complement the planting, to illuminate the pathways and patios, to give life to water and, most importantly, to allow you to use your garden for longer.
- Consultation: The initial site visit to discuss lighting proposals is normally free of charge.
- ‘What to light’
- ‘How to light’
- ‘How to control the light’
……These are the three basic questions I ask myself when viewing the garden either on-site or from plan.
- Design: In order to come up with the perfect scheme for your garden I can:
- Consult with architects, designers and electrical engineers
- Prepare detailed hand or computer drawn designs
- Advise on a range of control possibilities (including automatic and radio-control)
- Supply:
- Provide from a comprehensive range of light fittings, including the very latest in low voltage, LED’s and fibre optics.
- Installation/Repairs/Maintenance:
- Appoint and supervise fully qualified electrical contractors
- Organise regular maintenance and service visits
