1. New web site and blog!
I mentioned a while back that we had very exciting plans for 2009 to completely redesign the Anything Left-Handed website and make it far more interactive so our Members could contribute views and ideas far more easily. Well, we have had our heads down working more than 12 hours a day for months to get it all working and we are almost there and ready to show it to you!
The shop has a cool modern design (well we think so anyway), works faster and presents all of the information on products in a more integrated way, including demonstration videos, information on how the products are left-handed, customer reviews and links to other relevant information.
The really big change is on our left-handed information pages where we have changed it completely to work as a Wordpress blog which opens up a huge range of features and ways we can interact with you better. I have done a short video that gives you a really quick run-through of the site and shows off some of the new features, which include:
- Subscribe to our RSS feed so you can see updates to the site in your favourite Reader (or subscribe by email)
- Add comments to items and be notified of other comments and updates as they are made
- Share our content with others via your favourite bookmarking or social sites
- Contribute you own ideas and advice and possibly manage a section of the site related to your own special interests (more on this soon).
The new site is not open to the general public yet but we wanted to show it to our Club members first and get your feedback and any ideas for improvements. As a thank you for giving the new site a try, we are offering a 20% discount on everything in the shop for the next 2 weeks. Just enter the promotion code LHCNEW (in capital letters) in the box in the shopping basket, click "Update" and you will see your discount calculated.
The shop is complete (although always a work in progress) and we will be adding the rest of our information pages over the next month or so. You may not have seen a lot of the pages buried deep in our old site so if you subscribe to the news feed now you will get to see all the new things as they are added.
I will be doing some more videos about all the new features on the site and how to use them over the coming months and we will be adding a lot more as we go along.
