Left-Handers Club Newsletter - November 2006
Welcome to the November 2006 issue of your Left-Handers Newsletter. We are about to start using a new email service to ensure that we can deliver as many of your newsletters as possible without having them blocked by mistake and also allow us to send you the formatted html versions rather than just plain text. When we join you to the new list we have to get verification from you that you want to continue receiving our newsletters so some time over the next few weeks you will receive a verification email from lefthanders@aweber.com and you must click the link in that email to carry on being a Club member. To make sure you receive the confirmation email, please add lefthanders@aweber.com to your list of approved senders or email whitelist - click here to find out how We are planning to start a new website and it's all about you! So many of you have wonderful stories and anecdotes about being left-handed that we have decided to create a left-handers' library where you can post your thoughts, experiences and ideas for other LHC Members to share. We are setting up an article directory that will allow you to register and submit your articles plus search by categories and keywords for articles by other people no lefty subjects you are interested in. We would love to receive an article or two from you about your experiences as a left-hander or as a child or parent of a left-hander. We would also be interested in articles about the experiences of teachers in dealing with left-handers. We have put up a few articles to provide some inspiration, including a lovely report we received from one of our longest-standing members, Sue Potts, recounting the Left-Handers Day event she organised this August. Click here to see the left-handed articles We hope you enjoy the articles and feel inspired to get writing yourself. We will provide full details of the new article directory site and how to use it in the next newsletter.
Our own Left Write Guide writing mat is included in the pack, which details the important elements to consider when teaching left-handed writing. With a range of activities focusing on legibility, speed and comfort, these fun packed activity sheets provide key advice and ideas to help develop children's handwriting. To request your free pack, simply log onto www.stabilo.co.uk/handwriting and fill in your details. (Currently only available to teachers in the UK). Stabilo have kindly allowed us to make the lesson plans available to our Left-handers Club members as a free download so you can get the benefit of them wherever you are in the world.
