Pelikan griffix®: Winner of the OPI Award 

First place for the first comprehensive learn-to write system of the world griffix® from Pelikan within the category “New Product Innovation”.

Pelikan won the famous OPI award within the category “New Product Innovation” for the comprehensive learn-to-write system griffix® at Paperworld in Frankfurt.  Since 2002 the OPI European Product Awards reward high performance companies and products in the field of office products within 12 categories. The 2009 award for the category “New Product Innovation” was attributed to the Pelikan griffix® concept on 02nd of February 2009 in Frankfurt during Paperworld.

Pelikan griffix® is the first comprehensive learn-to-write system of the world: with a four step concept the children are prepared well for the proper technique of writing. The learn-to-write system consists of a wax marker, a 2mm pencil, an ink pen and a fountain pen.

While the unique technology and outstanding quality provide the highest degree of accuracy, the different designs, the coloured ink cartridges and the fun buttons simply add fun for young people. There are different versions for both right-handed and left-handed learners.

 The special feature of this new learn-to-write system is that the design of the grip area is the same on both the simpler writing instruments and those that are perceived as being more difficult to use, so that the child does not have to adopt a new approach every time it progresses to the next stage in the learning process. The innovative grip section has been developed in accordance with the latest findings in the field of graphomotor skills, in collaboration with educational experts and the Fraunhofer Institute for Industrial Engineering.
