Lefthanders Club Eggheads Diary

We arrived at BBC TV Centre on a
wet Thursday afternoon

After passing through security we made
it into reception and met...

Dr Who's TARDIS

and a DALEK!

We took over a corner of the large BBC reception
to work out our game plan and who would take
on which subjects and eggheads

The Lefthanders team in the "Green Room"
waiting to go on. We were encouraged by a
large picture of the Beatles from a 1960's Top
of the Pops show, with Paul and Ringo
being fellow left-handers!

Off to the makeup department, where
Graham and Mary got the first treatment

Bill's turn, "maybe a little beard trim
while I am here?"

well as make up - don't worry Rick,
the Eggheads might not turn up!

Keith in the chair "Do I really need that
much makeup?" Yes! (or you will shine
under the studio lights)

As Mary was our only female team member,
she got a huge dressing room all to herself!

Our tour round the studio. This is where
the contestants sit for the individual rounds
- in a separate part of the studio but actually
NEXT to each other - the pressure!

Final briefing - the floor manager tells us
about camera positions and where to look

The Eggheads arrive. Everyone is given
bottles of water and told not to drink them
while the cameras are on. Daphne hides
hers under the counter

All over and everyone still smiling. It took
about 70 minutes to film the 30 minute
show but it seemed to be only a few
minutes when we were sitting there
