Le Monde de Deux Mains, Luxembourg

Keith and Lauren from Anything Left-Handed were recently invited to participate in an exhibition in Luxembourg celebrating "The World of Two Hands" with particular emphasis on the differences relating to left-handers and the impact they have had. The subtitle of the exhibition is "Les gauchers sont-ils des gens comme les autres?" - Left-handers, are they people like the others?

The exhibition runs from 25 January to 16 March 2007 at the Centre Culturel de Rencontre, at the Abbaye de Neumunster in the Grund area at the Centre of Luxembourg city.

The original abbey also used to be a military stronghold and a prison, but has now been completely refurbished and upgraded into a modern cultural centre with exhibition rooms, a concert hall and conference rooms with the latest technology and equipment.

We were asked to produce a display of left-handed products with explanations of what makes them different to the usual versions and also to make a presentation and answer questions at the formal conference on left-handedness

It was great to meet so many people with a keen interest in advancing the cause of left-handers and also to tell them and the exhibition visitors a bit about Anything Left-Handed and the Left-Handers Club. It was well worth the 700 mile round trip from London to Luxembourg to participate and we wish the organisers well for the rest of the run of the exhibition.

This report is broken down into the following sections:

Introduction (this page)
The exhibition and its contents

Dr Barbara Sattler and left handedness in Germany
Pierre Michel Bertrand and his "Histoire des Gauchers"
